Hi! I'm not the guy that normally does this frontpage stuff, so excuse me for the lack of wit and funny stuff. We've been rather busy with the release of the expansion, which deserves a rather quick update.
It took 3 days of patching, but 50% of Firiona Vie was able to log on for the first time today since the release of Depths of Darkhollow expansion. After our normal nightly Anguish aug farm run (the rest is down due to lockout right now), we scurried over to DoD and decided we needed to server first some DoD raids. We weren't able to rely on any l33t knowledge of beta testing these events, so they were fun encounters to learn on the fly. Even better, they were raids no other guild on Firiona Vie has access to yet.
First target of the night was The Council of Nine. This was a fun little raid, and although less than 5 guilds gamewide had beaten it, we killed it our first attempt. I blame the rest of the guild for not snapping screenshots of this event :(
Downing that we moved on to an even harder one. Apparently killing the Council upset some Emperor Draygun guy. Actually the storyline was that killing the Council made Draygun fearful of us. For this reason we had to go wax his clock too. This event was a bit rougher than the first, but we managed to knock him out--downing yet another raid less than 5 guilds gamewide have beaten, and after a rather lenthy fight... target box UI courtesy of Turlo:
