The First Annual Fire and Fury Monster Madness Festival!

The day's festivities begun with a PvP tournament in the Arena. All contestants used shroud magic to become earth elementals, and then whooped some arse!

Battle was first restricted to the confines of the Arena itself, which produced things you might have witnessed in The Hole:

As the battle went on, contestants were restricted to the center dial, until finally, after blessings and enduring punishments from the gods, a winner stood victorious!

Congratulations to Quae, the last earth elemental standing! She was awarded the Bone Staff of Wickedness (http://eqplayers.station.sony.com/item_details.vm?itemId=47322) for her victory, as well as a Globe of Discordant Energy (http://eqplayers.station.sony.com/item_details.vm?itemId=47100)!
Wulfpaw came in second place, with Nofretauri in third - who both will receive their 2.0 orb from Anguish, too!
And it must be mentioned that all participants, whether first place or first to die, were awarded an ancient rune! Congratulations to: Baelus, Dagli, Deathguise, Digla, Glutton, Jefery, Jemi, Kalevalatar, Karlea, Keleborn, Kinelory, Lifecatcher, Martyy, Morgoht, Razzy, Suometar, Telorea, Warrenwarren, Willus, Wombert, and Zeuse!
The festivities carried on with a run across Antonica. No ports, Knowledge books, Wayfarer magi, or roundabout ways were allowed... this was a run for ol' times sake!

All cross-country runners gathered in West Freeport, once more as earth elementals. The course went from there to the East Commonlands, through the tunnel to the deserts of North Ro and the Oasis of Marr. South Ro preludes the mucky Innothule Swamp and Feerott, into Rathe Mountains and a swim through Lake Rathetear. The long trek through the immense Plains of Karana - South, North, and West. A quick jump through Qeynos Hills to Blackburrow, then a mad dash to the finish line in Everfrost Peaks.

Congratulations to Martyy, who finished first! He received five ancient runes, as well as a 2.0 orb!
Karlea took second for a loot of four ancient runes. Wikious was third and received three ancient runes, and Dagli in fourth got two ancient runes! Digla, Quae, Lessa, Zeuse, Hartana, Willus, and Marghot all got one ancient rune for finishing in the top 10!
